Development partners

Build the first Kore prototype with us.

Kore is a pre-prototype ultra-surveillance home-safety sensing concept, being developed in the open by one founder in Austell, Georgia. The V0.1 prototype is the whole next step. Development partners are the engineers, designers, makers, and connectors who help it happen.

The concept

What Kore is developing

One honest paragraph, the same one the founder would give you in person.

Kore is being designed as an ultra-surveillance sensing system for the home: cameras and environmental sensing (air, fire, carbon monoxide, water) working together with presence and fall sensing, keeping a continuous documented record of what was sensed, what was done, and whether it worked. It is meant to run locally first and to learn the rhythms of the household it protects. A camera-free configuration stays available as an option for schools, churches, senior living, and similar sensitive settings. All of this is design, not hardware: no prototype has been built, no sensing claim has been validated, no parts have been ordered, and no patents have been filed. The work ahead is turning this concept into the first working V0.1 build: sense, compare, act, verify, record.

Expertise needed

Three kinds of help. One prototype.

These are the gaps the founder cannot fill alone.

Embedded engineering

ESP32 firmware, sensor integration, and the first working sense-and-record loop. Component candidates are under evaluation, and no bill of materials is finalized yet. An engineer who has shipped real sensor hardware is exactly who this needs.

Industrial design

Enclosure and product design for a device that belongs in a home, not a lab. Concept imagery exists; real design work has not started. The upcycled-materials direction is part of the brief, and every material choice gets bench-tested before it enters a product.

Manufacturing and DFM

Design-for-manufacturing review plus small-batch fabrication and assembly planning for the V0.1 run. One build quote is in hand (about $18,000 plus components, from builder Sheldon Hurst, awaiting his reply). A manufacturing eye keeps that quote honest.

An honest ledger

What is ready, and what is not.

Partners deserve the full picture before they lend their name to this.

Ready to begin

  • V0.1 prototype planning: scoping the first build and the build budget with the founder.
  • Component evaluation: reviewing candidate sensors (BME280, SGP30, MAX30102, PIR motion, WiFi CSI presence) against the design targets. Nothing purchased yet.
  • University capstone collaboration: capstone proposal submitted to RPI, Spring sponsorship package sent to Purdue, and open conversations with Auburn and Penn State.

Still uncertain

  • Unvalidated sensing claims: no prototype exists, and no sensing claim has been validated in hardware.
  • Funding not secured: the $30,000 crowdfunding campaign is in progress; the build quote is unfunded so far.
  • No team beyond the founder: no employees, no advisors, no patents filed, and no suppliers engaged beyond the single build quote.
  • No timelines promised: no ship dates are given until V0.1 is built and tested.

How to contribute

Four ways to move the build forward.

Development partnerships are collaborations on the prototype build, not employment.

Time

Hands on the build

Build sessions, design reviews, and hands-on testing of the first prototype.

Expertise

Knowledge the founder does not have

Engineering, design, and manufacturing guidance that keeps the V0.1 build real.

Equipment

Access to the tools

Lab time, test instruments, and fabrication access for evaluation and bring-up.

Introductions

People who open doors

Suppliers, university labs, and future pilot hosts who can move the build forward.
